Mechanic, Electrician, First Class
Job includes trouble shooting, repair and installation of diesel
and electric air compressors and other diesel and electric powered
equipment. Periodic maintenance of industrial compressors at
customers plant. Repair of company owned equipment and facilities.
Fabrication of custom built equipment. Light machine shop operations
including use of metal lathe, milling machine, welding equipment,
electrical test equipment. trouble shooting of electronic and
electrical components and control systems including motor starters,
PLCs, and VSDs.
Requirements:
• Minimum High school education, prefer at least 2 years
college or trade school
• Minimum 4 years as mechanic and/or electrician
• Good verbal communication skills, self confidence, comfortable
dealing with public and co-workers
• Knowledge of construction and engineering exposure or
background very helpful
• Basic computer skills including ability to enter information
on work orders and rental contracts, retrieve, save and print
documents. Ability to use search engine to research equipment
information or locate parts
• Good health, with ability to work 44 1/2 hour work week
and maintain excellent attendance
• Good eyesight and coordination and Ability to lift 100#
without injury (safety concern)
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple instructions
Wages and benefits:
Compensation will be based on experience and proof of competence.
Job performance reviews will determine eligibility for salary
or wage advancement.
Hours worked beyond 40 hours per week will be paid as overtime
at 1.5 times base wage. Eligible for profit sharing plan after
1 year of employment.
Kaiser plan B will be provided at no cost for employees not
covered by another plan. Medical coverage will start on the
first of the month following 30 days of full employment at MSI.
Holidays will be paid per company holiday schedule after 60
days of full employment. Vacation pay of 1 week will be earned
after one year of employment, 2 weeks after 2 years of employment.
Work uniforms will be provided. Employee pays $5.00/week for
laundry service.
On premises parking is available at no charge to employee
Company Handbook and waiver of contract:
All employees will be expected to read and abide by the conditions
included in the Company Handbook, which will be distributed
to new employees upon their hiring. New employees will be expected
to read the manual and advise management in writing, prior to
reporting to work, of any conditions or requirements which cannot
be met, conflict with personal needs or values or are otherwise
objectionable to the employee. Employee will be required to
sign for receipt of manual, and on the first day of work, an
acknowledgement of agreement with the conditions therein. Employment
at MSI is “at will”. No contract of employment exists
or is intended to exist between MSI and the employee or prospective
employee. The Company handbook, possession thereof or any other
statement or offer by management does not constitute a contract
or offer of contract of employment with MSI.
